1- hour bag & Crayon wrap.

I made this cute bag and crayon holder for my daughter's Sunday bag.

I got the pattern and idea for this bag here. It is called a 1- hour bag, but I was visiting with some friends so it took me longer. I guess I am not great with multi-tasking. :)

I got the idea and pattern for the crayon holder here. It was fun and easy too. I loved using matching fabric for them both.

Two fun afternoon crafts. I recommend them both!!!!!!

Beads are one of my new favorite things!

It's a good thing that I have a little girl! I got into beading after attending a family reunion in Wyoming and they had beading for a project, I learned how to close off the ends and attach clasps and after i got back I went shopping for beads and the tools. I saw the binky holder on a website a while back and attempted to make one, but couldn't find anything to secure to the clothes, then I thought of a suspender clip while shopping in Idaho with my sister Jakobi. A friend of mine has a sister who makes some really adorable ones. I will post her site as soon as she gets one.

Sock Monkeys and hooded towels

I got very excited about sock and glove animals after looking at Crafty Jill's blog, http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com/ ordered the how to book off of Amazon and have been going crazy ever since! But this monkey sock I actually found the kit at a yard sake for 25 cents. It included the hot to book, the cocks, the needeles, string, everything! I was so excited I gave them a dollar for it because i felt so bad taking it. I had been looking on line and the monkey socks alone are 8 bucks, kits selling for $30. Beck doesn't really like it, so I will keep pushing it on him or give it to Paisley. Paisley already has a sock zebra I keep in her car seat to put up next to her face when she is trying to sleep and we are not at home. (She likes her face covered or something near it when she is sleeping)
I also have been making hooded towels, http://www.skiptomylou.org/2007/11/29/hooded-towel-tutorial/ , and working on my applique, which I am slowly trying to teach myself by trial and error. I have been having a lot of fun and made Beck a cute one with a big B on the back like Superman.

Vinyl

I am not sure if this is qualified as a craft or not, but I just did some major decorating with vinyl in my daughter's room. I had to do every piece by hand, but I enjoyed it becasue I was so excited about how it was turning out.

I still need to make some curtains but that means I will have something fun to share next time.

Not that crafty

So I am not the most crafty person on the planet but hopefully I will become better! I am in the process of organizing all my "craft junk!" Yeah me! But I do have a little tid bit to share...

Ice cube trays make the best organizer

So I am in a pinch and don't have anything to organize my buttons, paper clips, brads....
so I used an ice cube tray!

I thought that was pretty "crafty" for myself!

More nursing covers and burp cloths

So funny that Alisha just posted her nursing cover and burp rag because

I just finished making my 3rd one, first one was for me, then my sister Britni and now my friend Rosalie. She already had the material (way cute huh?) So I had a bunch left over and made her an applique burp rag with the letter K because her little 5 lb !!! baby girl is named Kali. I use the boning and have a love/hate relationship with it. I like to be able to see, but I kind of feel like I look like an oxen with a yoke around my neck. :) I also like to cut my burp rags in half because it just seems so big, but 2 of my sisters love the full size ones.

I made this scrapboook for my sister's Mother-in-Law. I think I made it look too busy, but overall turned out okay. It reads, "Marsha rocks and these are the reasons why!" I also am in love with my Cricut cutter, which I don't use enough and wish that I used more. I cut the "Love" and the flowers out of vinyl and stuck them on this glass "window" payne ( how do you spell that?) that I got at a garage sale for a buck and then added ribbon. I didn't know that my Cricut cut vinyl until a few months ago when I was up watching a Cricut infomercial at 3AM pregnant as a cow, so now I know. :) I was going to just use it for Valentine's Day and put a pink light in it, but I like it, so I stuck it in Paisley's room.

Burp Cloths & Nursing Cover

I have become obsessed with making/giving these adorable burp cloths and a nursing cover to friends & family that are having new little ones! The are both super easy to make and cost nearly nothing!

The only thing I did differently on the nursing cover is I didn't do the boning around the neck. I purchased one off of e-bay (to get the pattern to make my own!) and I don't like how the neck is stiff and sticks up all the time. They say the boning is for you to have 'eye contact' with the baby, but my thought on the whole thing is that if I am in public covering up to nurse I am not wanting to sit & 'bond' too much with him/her. It's get in & get out! ;)
I also made mine a little longer & wider so that it will wrap around my sides a little better.

With Parker spitting up as much as he does the burp rags are awesome because they are BIG and absorb great!

Calling all Crafties!

I wanted to start a blog where everyone could share craft projects they are doing, would like to do, or found an idea somewhere and would like to share. PLEASE GIVE CREDIT TO THOSE WHO'S IDEAS THEY ARE!!! These craft projects are not for sale because they are probably stolen out of someone else's brain anyways, but just for the enjoyment of all crafties and their recipients. Most of mine come from a gal known as "Crafty Jill." Her link is on my blog. Thanks Crafty Jill! Feels free to comment if you would like to join and I will add you as an "author." (Can someone tell me how to do that, so I know that I'm doing it right?)
